In a tournament that has so far been a celebration of attacking football, Greece's ultra defensive style has not exactly endeared them to fans of the beaufitul game. Despite fairly dismal performances in their opening games, Greece can actually still qualify for the knock out stages. They will, however, have to do something which they have only managed to do in one previous world cup outing - score.

In fact, if Japan manage to win their game against Colombia, the Greeks will need to score at least three goals, which is quite a task given that they have only managed to score 2 goals in their past 8 world cup games.

The match could also spend the end of an era for captain Georgios Karagounis who is set to retire after the tournament.

I know.........I know.........Greece is soooooooooo bad in Football.

But who went through to the last 16?

Please remind me and then pinch me because I think I'm still dreaming.

A 2-1 win for Greece saw them finish 2nd and qualify for last 16. A penalty converted by Samaras under some pressure in injury time gave them victory. They had hit the crossbar twice during the game and would have been unlucky to lose. The Ivory Coast will rue their poor use of the ball in a few breakaways in the closing stages.

Well done to Greece, showed some real fighting spirit to win this match!

The way this tournament is panning out they might even go one more..

The way this tournament is panning out they might even go one more..

This tournament is the most open in years. At least half of the teams in the last sixteen could make the final and several of those could yet win it.

But unless they get that ref again Greece aren't one of them.
