Greetings,

What's important is not the blender itself, it's the ingredients! For my morning breakfast, I use following ingredients with Bosch 750w Hand Blender:

Frozen blueberries

creamy peanut butter

Greek yogurt

Flaxseed oil

Honey

Maca root powder

Fruit extract powder

Solgar whey protein

Unsweetened fruit juice

After consuming my healthy smoothie, I'm ready to workout at True Fitness!

I hope your creamy peanut butter is non-hydrogenated ;-)

Question: Why do you prefer Greek yoghurt? The higher protein content? I ask because its fat content is higher, right?

Cheers

I currently take a vegetable juice (self made) of carrot / kale / garlic / cucumber / tomato / bitter gourd / ginger / limes and add some unflavored protein powder and some BCAA's. Its healthy but a lot of work, so its not something I always do. But I do this more then a few days a week.

Leave out the honey, unsweetened fruit juice, fruit extract powder, and the peanut butter if not completely natural and sugar-free. Don't forget to leave out the banana, too. Now you're good.

I agree with this especially peanut butter that is really bad.....all peanuts should be avoided because of mould anyway but the oil in peanut butter is especially bad.

I know bananas are really sweet but they do have a lot of potassium that is quite useful so I might keep the banana.

I used to love putting frozen blueberries in my shake, but they are so darn expensive here!

My shake:

  • pea protein powder
  • unsweetened rice milk
  • filtered water
  • banana
  • green tea powder
  • peanut butter or roasted almonds (optional)
  • some sort of fruit (optional)
  • coconut milk (optional)
  • creatine (optional)

Edit: I also forgot about the banana!

I would cut out the sugar (honey).

Maybe the OP doesn't like being called honey.

ClutchClark,

On a daily basis, I use Farmers Union Greek Style Natural Yogurt from Big C! I just like the taste of low sugar and texture of creaminess! I think the fat content is fairly low.

Well with a good workout afterwards I would like the Banana to give some carbs. Specially if he want to gain muscles and doesn't need to loose weight.

Like one small Banana or half a big one.

Greetings,

I also forgot to list cinnamon powder from Ceylon. Even though honey has lots of sugar, honey and cinnamon powder is good for you. To be honest, most of the time my smoothie is too sweet so I'll reduce the honey and dilute unsweetened fruit juice starting tomorrow!

Thanks for all your inputs to make the smoothie healthier!

That's the healthiest ...I got a Kuvings "Slow Juicer" a while back--- One of my better buys, it takes some getting used to, nothing like the commercial juice drinks. Ashamed to say I didn't really know what Kale was, a lot of that gets thrown away in the UK & Oz--just leaving the broccoli head . One day I was reading the ANDI scale = "Aggregate Nutrient Density Index," an apple or orange can give you up to 98 on the Andi scale, healthy huh,,,,just some Kale will give you 1,000..... Actually they think its more but the scale only goes up to that. I have never mixed protein with juicing robblok......will look at that.

Fishbrando,

The cheapest frozen blueberries I found in Bangkok, is from Tops market. They sell their own brand of frozen blueberries for 154 bhat. (500g)

Sanuk711,

Good one! Kale is very nutritious but how do you use it? Perhaps in salad, soups and eat it by itself with dressing but in smoothie, I don't know!

Are they good? I bought once frozen blueberries (can't recall where) and they were big but tasteless. Before I only knew the blueberries my mother collects in the forest which tastes 10 times stronger.

So I never bought them again. But asking myself now if different brands are different in quality.

Anyone knows the fat content?

Google provided that it contains almost no fat and on a other page: "As it has enough for, blabla....like it is high fat"

Anyone know the facts for sure?

h90,

It's okay! Tops brand is the best in terms of cost and taste! You should try it and let us know! Sometimes it's very difficult to find frozen blueberries in Bangkok.

You can substitute black currant berries but the berries are too sour for my taste! You need to add lots of honey to be palatable!

Amazing people giving advice without a clue what you're working towards! Looks like a nice smoothie to me. Where did you find unflavoured whey?

Damn - I've only got the 400W bosch - guess that counts me out.

Anyway I generally stick to the old tried and proven 5 main food groups method.

Water

Yeast

Hops

Sugar

Barley

Works for me!!!

Take barley, hops and water and cook it. Than add yeast and wait a couple of weeks, right?

what is the sugar for? As quick starter for the yeast?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned coconut oil yet!

I'm gonna need a new blender, as mine bust this morning... was pretty cheap and seems to have shattered from making the old Bulletproof coffee's.
