webfact Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 29 provinces at risk of floods,and landslides to July 5thBANGKOK, 1 July 2014 (NNT) –The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) is warning 29 provinces in northeastern Thailand of likely floods, storms, and landslides in the period up to 5th July 2014.A heavy south west monsoon covering the Andaman sea and the Gulf of Thai, has been causing intense rainfall and frequent heavy rains in some areas. The department has warned the areas most at risk, which are in 29 provinces in northeastern Thailand, to monitor the weather forecasts and follow the advice strictly.Meanwhile in Thai coastal areas small boats are advised against going to sea at this time.-- NNT 2014-07-01
