TG is jacking up the number of FF points you need

Featured Replies

Got an email from TG ROC saying that from 1st September this year, we will need more FF

point to redeem a ticket to any detonations,

in short, they're fallowing the foot steps of many other airlines that have raised their

FF points requirement recently,

I for one will try to redeem my saved points before the due date as there is no knowing

by how much they will jack it up for.....

Wife and I were going to use the miles for 1 business class flight... however, the Tax on an Airmiles business class ticket + another business class ticket is more than the total cost with another airline.

In September the cost of a flight in Airmiles doubles... that is to say it costs 130,000 miles to fly return business class to the UK. After Sept it will cost 130,000 one way.

Thus: my Wife and I have cashed in all our miles for hotel awards.

The miles were free anyway, FF membership never persuaded me to fly one airline over another, we also get FF points from our Credit Card which we would still use if we didn't get the points... So its not a big deal, however I do feel slightly cheated at this moving of the goal posts.

Tell me about it.

I was almost there for an upgrade with Sri Lankan who then joined One World Alliance and promptly increased the number of points required by almost 20% and simultaneously introduced tighter FF point expiry periods.

I felt cheated.

My advice to you is make a spreadsheet and plan how you can use what you have or will have to your best advantage.
