My friend who is married to a Thai Lady and she is currently on a settlement visa in the UK and she is needing a new passport.

They were planning on going to London next month, but someone has just told my friend that you can apply for a Thai passport in Glasgow and the office is only open on the 26th and 27th July.

I would be surprised if this was true, but i have told my friend that i will ask the question for him.

So can anyone add any information on this!! London is a long way to travel, from Cumbria and Scotland would be better.

Maybe the Thai consulate may offer Thai people the opportunity to get a passport in Scotland without travelling to London.

Their website makes no mention of passport applications; just Thai visas.

Thai passport applications, new and renewals, have to be made in person so that biometrics can be taken. I can find no mention of it on the RTE's website (at least the English version), but it may be that staff from the RTE travel to the various consulates in the UK from time to time to accept applications and take biometrics.

I suggest that your friend phones the consulate to ask; contact details.

I know for a fact that personnel from the Thai Embassy will be in Edinburgh Portobello on the 20th of July, don't know about any other venue.
