Everyday now for weeks.

They've been happening off and on for weeks now. This time of year an umbrella, rain-coat, rubber boots and "rain-screen" would be sensible additions to your luggage. :o

This year there have been quite a few storms even before the rainy season started but now that it's here, I find there are less than on previous years where they were almost happening like clockwork, usually afternoon storms.

Unlike this morning's storm, which has been going on for hours now. Just when I thought it was going to let up, it started pouring again. Not quite monsoon volumes of rain either.

(no thunder though).

Hopefully, if they get enough rain, there won't be any water shortages this year. Last time I was there, the water pressure was quite low.

We've been having shortages all this month as it is, and there is supposed to be plenty of water right now !

On my block, I'd say we've had the water cut-off for most or all of the day, probably 25 days of the 30 this month.

Bit if a piss-off when I fill the sink to have a shave, but minutes later when I step into the shower, the water has been cut-off again. :D

Of course, city officials gauranteed we would have no shortages this year. :o

Reservoirs can be full and there wno't be any water running. Lame water management that never ends and construction that keeps going at a crazy pace.

Nothing beats a pump and watyer tank. I've never noticed a water shortage in 2 years.

FYI

(Reuters) - An expected La Nina wet weather pattern is likely to bring worse than usual floods to Thailand this year, a top disaster official said on Friday after the worst deluge in 60 years killed at least 48 people in the north. La Nina, Spanish for "the girl", had already brought an early start to the monsoon, lashing much of the country with rain, even the rubber-growing south where the wet season was not due until October, Samith Dhamasaroja said. "It will be a year of heavy rains and floods in Thailand," said Samith, a former Meteorological Department chief who raised the alarm about the danger of a tsunami striking Thailand -- and was ignored -- well before the Indian Ocean disaster of 2004. "October to December will be the most critical period for the central region and Bangkok," said Samith, now head of the national disaster warning centre.
