Thais told to delay or avoid travelling to Iraq

BANGKOK: -- Foreign Ministry on Wednesday recommend Thais avoid or delay travelling to Iraq until the situations there return to normal.

In its statement issued Wednesday, the ministry told all Thais to closely monitor the development in Iraq and to avoid going in to the fighting areas, and contact Royal Thai Embassy in Amman, Jordan in case of emergency.

The ministry’s announcement was the result of political unrest and violence in Iraq’s Baghdad and other cities; Kirkuk, Anbar, and many other places.

6-1-2014-10-05-35-PM1-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Energy reform plan is expected to be ready in two weeks’ time from now, said ACM Prajin Juntong, economic chief of the National Council for Peace and Order and chairman of the energy policy management committee.

He explained that the chief objective of the energy reform plan was to replenish the oil fund which is now in the red by 8.8 billion baht.

The energy police management committee on Wednesday resolved to impose one-baht levy on diesel price and this will boost the revenue of the oil fund to 33 million baht a day instead of 27 million baht.

ACM Prajin said the diesel price in the world market was on steady decline bringing the market levy for diesel to 2.52 baht per litre.
