I think he means coming INTO Thailand before immigration. Pretty much every airport in the world has ATMs in the main part. LOL.

And I don't know the answer to his question. Sorry

So what is the answer to the question? I still don't know

No, there are no ATM's "airside" apart from one foreign currency SCB one that is absolutely useless unless you have a foreign currency account at SCB which just about nobody does.  It's always mystified me as to why there aren't any.  Does anyone know?

None of the airports I use has ATMs airside so I wonder why you expect them?

Well that's very strange because nearly all the airports I use have them airside, so, er........that's why I expect them.

I can't remember seeing any airside atms at any airport in Asia. Could it be due to currency restrictions? Limits on how much cash you can take through customs?

No ATM's Airside in Suvarnabuhmi, except for I believe SCB that only accept their own cards.

This is perhaps because of Transit scamming with cloned cards, only thing that seem logical.

So if there are no ATM's airside what do we do if we are asked to show cash at immigration and for whatever reason we don't have enough in our wallets to show them?

The SCB ATM accepts any SCB card and foreign cards, pays out EUR/GBP/USD.

The one I have used is at the SCB exchange desk in the middle of duty free heading for ABC gates.  I think there are also machines at the other SCB exchange desks as well.

That's right, but I was replying to the remarks about the ATM's, not the OP.  As far as I know there are none before immigration coming in.

Ok, that's interesting - thanks.  I thought the sign above the machine said something like "only for SCB foreign currency account holders".  If it also accepts local cards I stand corrected.
