New sheriff in town

Featured Replies

My wife got a fine sent to her by mail. The police got her by camera while she was driving onto the main road in an exit lane.

800 baht for that.

Did the new sheriff also get you allready?

Cool. I hope you will now lecture her on how to drive properly. smile.png

I agree it's cool the police start to do their job finally. I really hope the traffic will get more safe and flows better.

What i didn't know is that they use camera's like in Europe now and send you the ticket home. The wife said that if she doesn't pay nothing will happen.

Well i think the government will be rich soon. It is common practise to not follow roadrules in BKK.

She will find out when she goes to renew her road tax. Wonder what the interest will be :)

Yeah, be interesting to see how well it's implemented- are they still towing illegally parked vehicles? I know there's was a big press coverage when the first did it, but not sure if it's still being done.

Lol, I had a letter sent to me from The Police suggesting that one of my vehicles was speeding in Surin, photo etc.

The fact that none of the vehicles have ever been to Surin was rather perplexing. Sent them a letter saying, not mine.

My wife said the police had a very clear pic of her licenseplate, and it was true that she did that so they really caught her on camera.

The new sheriff has been in town for a while now and i sure see improvements.

-Less motorbikes without helmets or driving like crazy.

-Less cars parked at busy roads

-Taxi's don't stop where they shouldn't

-Motorbikes keep left now and don't drive on pavemensts as much as before

- No more sales people on the skywalk between Paragon and Central World

-Less Thai driving against traffic

-Less kids on motorbikes

I 'm happy with the improvements and hope the army will stay forever. I will even start bringing them food from now on, they are my hero's!
