MDM - Mobile Device Management

Featured Replies

Downloaded a propriety app through a MDM thingy (not via app store )...... and saw these things called certificates. reading the cert i was quite shocked, it saw MDM has the right to ie delete all my data, or see my list of apps.

I check with their IT, and said " no, can only add or delete the app from their end", but i am not so sure.

Is there something about Mobile Device Management that you don't understand?

It's normally deployed by a corporation that issues multitudes of phones to its workforce and contractors (read Family or on-call-prostitutes) where they need to be able to manipulate the phone, or group of phones, remotely.

Yep - new to it

It's a vendor app for logistics - keep track of shipping progress.

Just wondering who is tracking who now. Best I delete and just use web portal on laptop

Those permissions are there to allow the corporate owners of the data to wipe it to prevent breaches.
