Nong Khai - 14 day on arrival no worries !

Featured Replies

Just a small piece of good news. I crossed the bridge today from Vientiane, and asked for a 14 day (Ozi) visa exemption. I was a little worried, what with all the reports of visa troubles, but nothing. The guy behind the counter was saying yes and handing me my passport with the stamp, before I had finished my explanation of why I wanted only 14 days (Nong Khai Saturday night market). Good news.

Maybe not so good. A hotel in Nong Khai, that I had stayed in for years on and off, and before had been happy to not ask for my passport, this time insisted on seeing my passport and my departure card, and my email. So, more paperwork.
