We have this little Canon as work camera on board my Oil offshore support Vessel. One day I was taking some technical photos and put it my boiler suit pocket and forgot all about it as I was busy. The boiler suits are washed during the night as part as the watchman's routine. He gave the camera to the Capt next morning with the words: It had a quick wash (30 deg.C) and 90 min in the dryer afterwards (in my boiler suit pocket), he-he. The camera looked okay but the battery would not take the charge so I took the camera up to a shop in Sim-Lim (Singapore)and first tried a 2nd hand battery and the little Canon fired right up but with flickering lcd screen and it would not turn off, but everything else was working fine so I bought a new battery for it. Now 3-4 weeks later it is still working and we just pull the battery out for switching it off. Amazing but I will not recommend this method of cleaning your camera, LOL.
