3BB Wifi Router not good?

Featured Replies

Hi

I got the 650 bat 1 port + wifi adsl router from 3bb

Im just wondering if its not good. My connection seems bad a lot of the time although my computer is near to it and connected by wifi. I thought it was really cheap for a router, could that be the problem? Anyone having problems with this router? Any good alternative routers compatible with 3bb?

Mine seems OK.

In what way do you think the connection is bad?

Some websites load really fast. Others take like 5 minutes. Its strange

Can you change the Router DNS (or Computer DNS) to use Google's public DNS?  8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

That sounds like a possible proxy/DNS issue. RichCor's answer is well worth trying.

Also restart the router and the PC, if you haven't done so recently.

3bb generally very good,  at least where I am, if you cannot fix as suggested above ^ call them and ask them to check the line.... I have done that twice lately, line was wonky where trees had cut into the line... they came out and fixed fast....thumbsup.gif

On the plan you have you may be limited to how long you can use,  a friend says he gets a pop up window when he exceeds the limit.... I have the 900 baht plan, 4 LAN ports and wifi no problem ...thumbsup.gif

This is also a good idea.

The OP should also be able to run the dedicated provider 3BB SpeedTest that could help determine if the router, line to the local exchange, or the backhaul to the provider's Network Operations Center is having issues.

I have 631bht a month 3BB with their wifi modem. Works great, 2 PC's and 2 iPhones going noooo probs. Watch films, youtube, anything............Ubon area........thumbsup.gif

Im in chiang mai. My internets been terrible for last 5 days

Yes actually 3bb the last few days has had some intermittent slow downs to

2mbps & less download speed in CM

Much more than usual. Not sure you could call it peak hours either as even during the early afternoon

there have been patches.

Other times like this morning as I type this it is running nicely at 11.26mbps

( I have their basic router & 630baht a month plan ) For the most part they are very good/consistent

in the last few years

As Rich said

You can check speed on their site & let them know if you think it is often

They will log into your router & check just in case
