Mobile phone pre-paid problem.

Featured Replies

I have been using this True Move H pre-paid mobile sim card for a number of years.

Every month I would top up with Baht 300 when it is expired.

The problem is this. With the Baht 300, they would give me 60 days validity. However,

recently, they would give me only 30 days.

Why sometimes 60 days and sometimes only 30 days ? What is going on ?

Can someone please advise me on this matter. Or is there a way around this system.

I normally top up at 7-Eleven. They don't speak English and I don't speak Thai.

As a result they can't explain to me what I was talking about. They just top up for me.

And again for 300 Baht I got 30 days validity instead of 60 days which I used to get before.

Your kind advice is much appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance. Khap Khon Khap.

When in town i top up at the DTAC store most customer service operators have some English ability and there in most major shopping malls...good idea you find out where your carrier has a shop front and do your deed there my man.

ps at one point i had 9 mths credit up my sleeve, might be an idea to look into changing carrier.

I have no experience with DTAC, only 1-2-call (AIS).

With them it is easily possible to get a one year extension for little or no money at the service centers.

So its really worth to go to a genuine DTAC service center and ask.

7-Eleven:

there a red/orange coloured self service machines outside every shop.

Try a 10 Baht topup (costs a additional 2 Baht fee).

Each such topup gives one more month of validity with AIS.

One can repeat that up to a maximum validity of one year.

Don't know about DTAC,

Worth a try.

AIS has selfservice machines at their shops which allow the topup without the 2 Baht fee.

As far as I remember the Thai telecom regulator has given a warning to the providers about that short validity practice and provide a way to avoid loosing credit.

Worth checking, directly, with True what's going on?

Not directly relevant but I top up my AIS pre paid account through Bangkok Bank Internet Banking... validity of my balance: August 2015

Hope it'll help

Just seen I confused the operators. The topic starter was asking about True (not DTAC).

Topping up via bank account: I did not get this long validity in the past via this way.

Maybe its your "volume/amount".

I have little volume.
