Renewing 1 Year Temporary Licence for 5 Year

Featured Replies

I'm sure this has been asked before but i am asking again as this is Thailand and rules change.

I have a 1 year Thai licence which expires on 7th October and i have been told that i can do this 60 days from expiration date, I was wondering if this is true as i am looking to have it renewed to a 5 year on Friday.

cheers

You can try. I've read that they want the 1 year to expire, before issuing the 5 year. And, of course, each DLT office probably has their own procedure.

Just the opposite, I was well past the expiration when I applied for a new license, and expected them to give another one year. They went ahead and issued the 5 year, I used the office near the MoChit BTS Station in Bangkok. Worse that will happen, is they will tell you to comeback.
