HI,

Does anyone have up-to-date information on race driving schools in Thailand?

There seem to be lots of dead links and broken websites.

I'm looking for some arrive and drive options. don't have and don't want to own a car at the moment.

Thanks for any help!

[preferable rear wheel drive cars, but anything will do]

OK, well 2 for 5 so far so good.

taki racing doesn't show any dates on their website. I've emailed them, bit no reply so far. Will try to call later.

Bira doesn't have any dates either although they allude to offering training.

toyotaracingschool.com could be a possibility...

Anyone with actual experience on these track or with these schools?

Thanks.

The difficulty will be actually finding somebody (Thai) who is really experienced, they may have a Ferang on staff, but doubt it. At already mentioned most think they are Race Car Drivers anyway!,

OP you can't be serious surely Thai people have many good drivers on road but they have never had a Thai person head towards serious racing as far as I know and I stand to be correct of course.

Certainly in higher circles money would not be a problem and it's would nice to see a good Thai motorcycle racer let alone a race car driver.smile.png

Taki racing is probably one of the oldest and reputable driving schools, but its quite pricy but you get to drive a formula car. If you want to sharpen you skills with a road car, its a no go, but if you want the thrill of driving a formula car go ahead.

Did the Toyota Racing School, I would not recommend it. My experience was from 5-6 years ago, you get broken down into small groups and take turns driving through a go kart track (PTT Motorsportsland). The track gets broken down into different sections for each group, you will go through each section, and at the end of the program you will get to drive one lap as a "final test". You get some classroom lessons (all in thai) on braking and cornering techniques, track lesson consists of instructor driving you around the section, you drive around the section with instructor and get tips/critique. Then go sit under the tent and wait for other folks in your group to do the same, not enough seat time to improve or practice. The instructors were experienced racers and folks you see regularly in Toyota One Make race as well as other racing classes, don't remember their names but they were top of the their spec class from what I remember.

My friend who did the Singha Racing school said it was well worth it, he did the one where you drive your own car. Its pretty much 1 on 1 lesson with the instructor for the whole day, don't remember the price but it was wasn't much and was well worth it. Nowadays, they have the program where cars are provided.
