Friday is the start of the Ryder Cup, and I wondered what the viewing options are in Chiang Mai.

Firstly what are the home viewing options, internet, satellite, Thai TV?

and secondly are any bars / pubs planning on showing it with commentary on? I think the only Premier League game on Sunday is the West Brom / Burnley one but clearly there will be a clash on Saturday.

Actually the only channels I watch on CTH are stadium 6 and sky news. I tried flicking through the channels once but it was incredibly slow so I gave up.

CTH is terrible for channel hopping for the exact reason you stated, the incredibly slow reaction between pressing the button and the channel changing. I thought it was just mine. If they didn't have EPL they would be ditched.

The UN Irish Bar is showing the Ryder Cup on Friday & Saturday from 1.30 p.m. and Sunday from 5.30p.m.

I asked them but the guy there said he had to wait to hear from Bangkok what he was allowed to show, and that if the Premier League was on that would take precedence. Mind you he did say that being an American he didn't know what the Ryder Cup was.

Thank heaven we have a sports bar in Chiang Mai that actually show and knows about important sporting events (and the food id OK) It may not have swanky furniture, 14 TV's, but at least it shows important SPORTS..........because it's a sports bar and showing major sporting events is a major prerequisite!

The upside of being home this time of the year, the local was heaving with supporters for the Ryder cup and what a first day it was.
