Second hand camp equipment

Featured Replies

Hi

I need to know if there are any second hand shop for used camping equipment in Bangkok?

I found last year some open air shops for selling shoes, clothes and some limited kind of camping things ie sleeping bags next to Big C in Ubon Rechathani opposite to their main bus terminal..

I wonder if something like that maybe possible in Bangkok, if so, where exactly in BKK ??

Secondly, how's the weather in Thailand in December and January specially in north and north east? If camping possible ??

And lastly I need to ask if camping outside campsite is allowed in Thailand? I recently visited iran and turkey and it was no problem to pitch the tent anywhere along the caspian or even in parks, would that be possible in Thailand or whether they wont allow it ??

Thanks in advance for giving me your time to read this post and answer.

I don't know of any specific place for used camping gear but a good place to start in Bangkok would be the weekend market at Chatuchat. My wife and I camp several times a year here in Thailand and December thru February are the best months as their is usually no rain and very cool to cold weather. We think the best places to camp are the National Parks and of those we like Khao Yai NP in the northeast and Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai and Kaeng Krachan NP south, near Hua Hin, We take our own camping gear (tent, blankets etc) but at some of the National Parks you can rent gear there. I know at Khao Yai NP you will be able to rent everything you will need at the camp sites. In National Parks camping is only allowed at the designated camp sites.

As far as camping at places other then national parks I would guess you could do it.
