bbi1 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If travelling alone, does anyone know how to book a wheelchair in advanced so when you arrive at the airport via taxi to fly out, someone can have a wheelchair available straight away to pick you up & wheel you around to check-in, etc.? Is there a fee involved for this?
Gsxrnz Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Here's a link to the airport wheelchair service, which is free and can be booked (according to the website). Although that is for people described as "sick". Otherwise it says to make arrangements via the airline you are booked with. http://www.suvarnabhumiairport.com/en/41-wheelchair-service-for-the-elder-disabled-and-patient

puuchai299 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If you are traveling alone, the best way is to have your taxi driver go to your checki in desk and ask them to send a wheelchair operator to take care of you from the taxi drop off area, the operator will then take care of you the whole way to boarding..
bbi1 Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 http://www.suvarnabhumiairport.com/en/41-wheelchair-service-for-the-elder-disabled-and-patient From their website it says: Inbound and outbound passengers, who needspecial wheelchair service at Suvarnabhumi Airport for the elder and sick person, can contact for getting the service at the airline, which they are using.Passenger, who need special wheelchair service for the sick person at Suvarnabhumi Airport, can contact for getting the service free of charge at the medical section of Suvarnabhumi Airport, telephone no. +662 132-2777. But when you call that number it says that "the number you dialled does not exist". W T F??? How do you call & book when the number on their doesn't even work?
canopus1969 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 You will need to arrange with your airline in any case to board the plane so ask them to arrage the wheelchair when you arrive.
