Totally Incompetent Optometrist

i needed new contacts so i went to beautiful optical in thongsala. hadn't had an exam in a couple of years so i asked them to give me one to update my RX. they didn't have computerized machines, just those glasses that you put on and they slide in pieces to test your vision. what i ended up with didn't seem quite right to me- for one thing the prescription was actually weaker than what i had had before. the lady insisted i trust her, so i did, and they ordered me a pair of contacts. they were horrible- i couldn't see a thing. i thought maybe just one eye was wrong so i took in the box and asked them to re-test and give me a new box. they did, i took it home and tried the contacts... still horrible. my eyes don't focus right, i can't see properly, and the diameter of the contacts are much bigger than my eyes so they slide around/pop out as well. went back in today and asked if i could just exchange the two boxes i had for 2 boxes that matched my original prescription from before they ever tested me. they said "can not". they wanted me to pay again. i told them to call their manager and they did, but just sat there laughing at the stupid farang on the phone (not realizing i understand thai), and got off saying "can not". i basically just refused to leave until they agreed to order me contacts that might be of use to me, and they said they would and to come back in monday to get them, but i have a feeling they were just b.s.'ing me. meanwhile it has been over a week since i was able to see, and i have bad headaches and nausea from eyestrain. i do not recommend this place. if anyone knows a better place for next time (other than in bangkok/surat) please let me know! thx
