Police were called to the Grerk Garden Restaurant on the Naklua Road on Thursday Night by the owner of the restaurant, Khun Grerkchai aged 44. He informed officers that he had just been shot by his wife. He was taken to Banglamung Hospital for treatment and his wife, Khun Chortirot aged 40 was arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station. The weapon, a 22 mm magnum, was also seized by Police. Khun Grerkchai who was shot in his inner thigh explained that the couple was arguing over allegations of Khun Grerkchai’s infidelity when Khun Chortirot produced a gun and shot him. Police checked the license papers relating to the Gun and they appeared to be in order. They questioned Khun Chortirot who happily confessed to the shooting and confirmed that she had simply had enough of her Husband bragging about meeting other women. Police have forwarded the case to Senior Officers who will now wait for Khun Grerkchai to recover and confirm whether he wishes to pursue the case.

This is exactly why their is so much gun violence in Thailand. Why can any ordinary citizen be able to keep a gun? How come it is so easy to be licensed for it? Then a serious crime is commited and the cops are just going to wait for the victim to get better just to see if he wants the case to proceed. Why not just charge the shooter with Attempted murder? Hmmmm :o

If I'd be permitted to own a gun, I would buy one...see, the thing is that most of the times, a criminal doesn't care if he is legally allowed to own a gun or not and when he shoots you, you can't just say "time out, mate, that's just nor fair, you weren't supposed to have a gun..."

You already have the answer to your 2nd question from the 1st question...there is so much gun violence in Thailand :D

Uh, because if the husband testifies that is was an accident, what is the prosecuting attorney going to do next? He is perfectly in his right to have her charged, although he likely won't.

Because she wasn't aiming to kill him.

The bullet was in his "inner thigh".

She was aiming for his second brain.

Had she been succesful it would have altered his quality of life but probably not

life-threatening.

Guy brags to his wife about all his girlfriends ?

Smart , very smart.

He's probably lucky it was a gun and not a meat cleaver.

:o
