Pattaya is full of law breaking idiots. The Thais are just as bad.

What's a 70 year old man doing out in Pattaya at 2.30 am ?

Is there a curfew ?

Are you on drugs?

how convienent that a piece of wood was nearby.and look at the smirk on the coppers face as he squeezes his arm.

You seem to have missed the expression on the Brit's face. Obviously playing it for all it's worth. And undoubtedly he played arrogant Khun Farang when approached by the attendant. He certainly is to be congratulated on saving the Baht 40.

Absolutely! Surely, a gang of migrants (from Burma... may be) wai2.gif

I think there must have been a mistake in reporting - shouldn't the police check first whether the parking attendant was a migrant worker? Surely a Thai man wouldn't harm a defenseless old chap....

Someone 70 years old should know better than to confront a teen.

The outcome was never going to be favorable.

..in Pattaya at 2:30 am. The 70 year old is nuts.

Never wishing to fill my pockets with wads of low value paper money, I never have less than Baht100 notes.

I always leave change, coins and small value notes with the seller, baht bus driver whatever, minimarts always have some kind of charity collection box..

So I would have given the guy Baht100

This is economic for me as I have been in the habit of giving Baht1000 for twenties.

Once distracted by a damsel on an up escalator,.while paying for something I realised later I had paid Baht4000, for an Baht80 purchase.

Could I suggest an eye test? Top Charoen has some lovely dolly birds working there...

You are seeing things that aren't there, Its not a cop but EMS see the "Rescue" in the badge worn on his shoulder. Secondly that doesn't look like he is squeezing his wrist. That looks more like trying to support the arm while asking the victim to perhaps raise his hand to the opposite shoulder, as he seems to be indicating by doing it himself. Probably checking for movement, as he was trying to diagnose the extent of the injury. The look of what appears to be a grimacing howl of pain was probably experienced while trying to complete the manoeuvre, as asked for by the EMS.

The expat refuses to pay, gets out of his car to 'confront' the attendant. What was the expected outcome by the expat ? Just wondering what the heck this old codger was gonna do to the kid ?

And the bloke was not parked in the car park, so why should he pay. Just another Thai scammer trying it on

He should pay to avoid getting his arm broken and then being vilified (mostly) on this forum.

Has anyone asked him if he still believes he made a wise decision , and how he might react in future similar circumstances?

The parking attendant wanted me to pay 20 baht for motorcycle parking at Big-C.

I been there many times...no fee at Big-C.

I was going to go talk to manager of Big-C, but I decided it was not worth my time.

I hate when think they can scam me because I'm farang.

He might have been tweaking on ice.

So...he destroyed the old mans arm and also did damage to his car. Great to be in such a HAPPY PLACE with HAPPY SMILING PEOPLE.

Spend your money on a security guard/uniformed escort if you plan to visit here as a tourist.

He should not have gotten out of the vehicle to confront the guy.

He should have reversed and then hit him with the car.

If someone picks up a weapon, you need to use a bigger one.

You have to appreciate some of these car parks are casual, ie someone is charging without any authority, more opportunistic. At 2.30am, I would not expect an attendant to still be working!

Great advice. Then he could spend the rest of his days rent free.
