3G switch missing in IOS 8

I called AIS last night after upgrading to IOS 8 & they said hopefully Apple will restore the 3G switch in the next upgrade. Is there a work around for his as I like my phone to be on edge most of the time and only turn on 3G when I need a bit more speed?

Plus it reduces battery life & uses my 3G allowance quicker without this option.
