How can a Thai kick boxer lose against a foreigner? Can never happen.1zgarz5.gif

Happens all the time, you don't know what you are talking about.

Get your facts straight before dissing the Thais.

How can a Thai kick boxer lose against a foreigner? Can never happen.1zgarz5.gif

It can and does happen. A few years ago I saw a fight being broadcast live between a Thai muay thai champion and an Australian challenger. The Aussie trounced him. You could have heard a pin drop.

Thais frequently lose to foreigners, despite having the huge advantage of an endless talent pool and fighting professionally from an early age. But they train like they did 80 years ago. Just like in the real world, thai boxing and Thailand are terribly ineffective and unproductive due to being unable to modernize and progress.

BitterPhuket has no clue what he is talking about. Thais frequantly lose to foreigners? yes, at bangla stadium lol. At the weight classes that thais naturally fight in there is very little challenge to their dominance in the sport. Thais lose for sure but "frequantly" against foreigners. nonsense. Thaiboxing is terribly ineffective? lol, idiot

I have noticed that the Thai fighters telegraph their strikes. Any thoughts on this?

I was 40 feet from ringside. We left after the 3rd round to get a jump on traffic because Buakaw clearly won. The thing is that that fight cannot be looked at in isolation. There was a bigger fraud earlier. A Russian & a Thai fought in the 3rd K1 match. The Thai clearly won and was awarded the victory. While he was celebrating the K1 "Global Director Operations" Ned Kuruc, got up from his ringside seat and approached the ring announcer and judges. The Thai left the ring with his trophy but the Russian for some reason lingered around. Then the ring announcer got back in the ring and overturned the decision saying it was a scoring mistake. It was obvious to all that attended that although the fighting was top notch corporate K1 is rigged.

K1 would be more exciting if they allowed elbows, and unrestricted use of knees.
