Returning to UK

Recommended Posts

I have lived here 13 years and now I want to return to the UK. I am 75, and have accumulated 1.5 million baht from my pensions and also a lump sum paid to me by the hospital to avoid me taking them to court. I used this as my retirement 800,000 baht retirement guarantee.

But I have to go back now, and not return here. How do I get my money out?

You can carry $20,000 per person when you leave, if there are two of you travelling, then you and you partner can carry it legally, if you want to use a more secure method then talk to your bank about a Telegraphic transfer, the funds only have to be declared that you are taking then our, there shoudn't be a problem. TT's are reasonably cheap to use to send money, they may advise splitting it into two transactions to stay under the limit of 20,000USD
