Hi all!

I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject so sorry in advance for asking any stupid question.

I'm British and got a 2 month single entry tourist visa when coming to Thailand.

After staying here for two months I then extended it by another month which i am currently a few days into.

However, somethings have come up andI would like to stay for longer if possible.

Is this possible? and if so, what is the best way to go about this?

I'm in Bangkok by the way.

Thanks in advance!

After the 30 days extension you can obtain a 7 days one for Bt 1,900.

After that you must leave country and come back with a new tourist visa or visa exempt.

The only exception would be a serious medical condition requiring hospitalization.

Thanks for the replies,

When you say leave the country am i required to go back to UK or can i fly to say Vietnam and then come back?

If so how long should one stay in Vietnam for?

Cheers

Vietnam is not a good place to get a tourist visa. Normally people goes to Laos about which you can read the pinned threads at the top of the forum.

So you wouldn't recommend doing a border/visa run on the bus to the border?

If you only need 60 days you can do a border hop and then extend further 30 days at immigration.

All you need to do is leave the country to anywhere you want and then re-enter to get a 30 day visa exempt entry that can be extended for 30 days. You could leave and re-enter in minutes since it will be your first one. You can do it by land or air.

You can also get a 2 entry tourist visa in Laos or a single entry in other nearby countries.
