Thailand hosts ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Students Summit 2014

BANGKOK, 21 October 2014 (NNT) - Thailand is currently hosting the first-ever ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Students Summit to turn the Southeast Asian region into a high-quality travel destination.

On Monday, the Foundation for International Human Resource Development joined the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in launching the ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Students Summit 2014 as a warm-up to the realisation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.

The event, the first of its kind, is participated by youth from 10 ASEAN nations and three dialogue partners, including China, South Korea and Japan and will take place in Bangkok and in eastern Chon Buri until October 26.

The objective of this event is to strengthen the ability to learn of regional students who will also exchange their knowledge in order to drive the region forward and to prepare for a higher level of regional collaboration in tourism.

Secretary-General of the Foundation for International Human Resource Development Prof. Jira Hongladarom said that the enhancement of the ASEAN tourism potential is a challenge as all needs to figure out how to find more added value for this industry.

"The objective of this event is to strengthen the ability to learn of regional students who will also exchange their knowledge ..."

BUT:

1) May not openly discuss democracy

2) May not openly discuss dictatorships

3) May not read openly or display books or any media related to democracy

4) May not participate in any seminars or lectures that discuss democracy or human rights

5) May not critisize, no matter how obliquely, the Junta and by extension the entire Thai government

6) May not refer to the Junta as a "dictatorship"

7) Must remain happy with current Thai social, economic, and political situation

8) Must not cause any distress or conflict to Thai society

9) Et cetera ....

Exchanging knowledge may be a dangerous idea. wai2.gif
