Public property creep

Featured Replies

I've noticed over the past couple of months, the public property creep is getting worse now that high season is approaching. Now at Nai Harn they are staking out the same prime spots they used in the past, along with the obligatory orange cone to warn people off their spot. I snapped this pic without directly looking at these clowns lazing about with their concrete chairs and umbrella out behind their truck.

Anyone else seeing the creep advancing?

I thought corruption was finished in Phuket? I was waiting for the military train to come to Bangkok and do the same here. Perhaps it's just another false promise like...

Come on you guys, the faces change but the dance goes on. TIT

sorry browsed the photo but fail to see any cones or concrete furniture that pic could be any number of venues with ordinary folk going about their biz

If the disdain/mockery on YL's face is truly towards the stop corruption campaign then no wonder officialdom does not really care. To me the only way to stop them is to hurt them in their pockets & jail terms where they actually have to go to jail. Plus stop all the nonsense whereby the suspect makes an appointment to answer charges & is immediately released on bail in order to ensure witnesses are silenced, evidence tampered with or gone missing, or go through an endless round of court appearances where nothing is achieved.

Vehicle and orange cone on the left of the image. Had to not point the camera directly at the two guys giving me "the look". There are two vehicles with their orange cone parked at this same spot every day. I've seen them chase any other punters away from "their spot".

Slowly happening in Kata. They are on the banks of the sands.

Also the Jet ski guy wearing a life guard shirt, very sneaky. Allowed to be on the sand near the lookout tower with his jet skis.

Yes, I see a number of vendors back on Kata beach using mats to lays out their wares, even saw a mobile bar under the trees (motor bike trolley).
