Buying from Offshore Cheap Meds, a heads up.

Someone recommended buying medication from Offshore Cheap Meds, and as I'm currently paying 1300 a month for Xatral I decided to sign up and order two boxes (60 tablets) of Uroxatral (generic Xatral) for around US$25 plus $10 postage, which would have worked out less than half of what I'm currently paying. So I filled out the info re shipping address, Visa card # etc and placed my order. The next day I get an email asking for a doctor's prescription, something that I never ever got in Thailand. From memory the doctor at BKK/Pattaya hospital just wrote what he wanted me to take on a piece of paper that I showed to the pharmacist.

I still don't know whether Offshore Meds has actually deducted any money as it hasn't shown up on my Visa statement yet. So be aware that when ordering meds from online you may be asked for a prescription.

As I suspected, they have taken the money out of my Visa account, even though no goods have or will be shipped. After phoning them several times they say the money will be refunded, but why was it taken in the first place if a prescription was needed before the medication could be shipped. The company's address is in in the UK, but all the phone operators are Indian, so that's where the medicines are made and shipped from. Stay away!
