pappadoms

Featured Replies

I have been looking all over for these microwaveable accompaniments to indian meals.

I have an empty packet that I bought at either Rimping or Tops but both say they dont stock any more- maybe just an easy way to deal with the question though, although Rimping did consult their computer stocklist.

Anyone spotted any packets anywhere - so far tried Makro, Big C, Tesco, Rimping, Tops. May bring some back from Singapore but seems rather OTT!

I bought some in Makro Hang Dong a while ago, made in India,

they were only small but expanded when fried, only in not too

hot oil,as they burn easily. Pappadoms are usually eaten before

the meal, i much prefer Nans, they are also available at Makro,

also made in India,in the frozen dept.

Many thanks - Nan are easy to find in Tops/Rimping but I find them too filling and we just enjoy a single pappadum each with our indian meal. But i dont want to mess about frying- the sort I use take 30 seconds in the m/wave and that's perfect for me. So still looking.....

Makro Hang Dong sell them and if you brush them lightly with oil they will only take about 15-20 seconds to crisp up.

On ya' Sir Les!

Worarot market, the spice stall, called Bombay, surprisingly. Enter the market under the "Chinese bridge" and to the right, I think. Tell the guy to order up some more.

Bought some spicy ones at Makro Hang Dong today. As you walk in, bear right, first display, with olives, top shelf, right hand side near Madras curry powder.
