Low cost hospital in Bangkok with a hepatology department

Featured Replies

I have diagnosed myself with liver cirrosis (not a drinker, cause unknown) and I'm looking for a low cost hospital in Bangkok for further diagnosis and treatment advice, as my insurance will likely refuse payment due to it being a pre-existing condition (they'll argue it existed long before I got insured with them).

20k baht is my max budget and I don't speak thai, so government hospitals don't seem to be an option.

I previously had a negative experience in St. Louis hospital with both nurses and a doc, so I don't really want to go there again.

This is unfortunate because St Louis is the lowest cost private option.

In any hospital there are all sorts of people, a bad experience with some doesn't mean it will be bad with all. I have had both very negative and very positives with (different) doctors at St. Louis.

Another option, a little more expensive than St Louis, is Bkk Christian. Suggest one of the following there:

Dr. PISIT TANGKIJVANICH or

Dr.Salyavit Chittmittrapap

http://www.bangkokchristianhospital.org/dr-e.asp?page=fs&spid=003-Med# for their schedules.

Arrive ahead of time as it is first come, first see and you'll need to register first.

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it and I'm going to give BKK Christian a shot. wai.gif

There are always people at Government Hospitals that speak English, even in the sticks at district hospitals, in Bangkok I would think there would be many.
