Interesting, that the extension was given for 12 days - as it is clearly over the 84 days maximum (The total number of days between Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014 and Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014 is 91 days).

Here's a recap of the Thai criminal procedure code;

Section 86/No means of custody may be applied to the arrestee in excess of the necessity for prevention against his abscondence:

In the case of offence liable to the maximum imprisonment for a term not less than six months but not more than ten years, or to a fine not less than five hundred baht or to both, the court shall be authorised to order several successive detentions not exceeding twelve days each, but the total period shall not exceed forty eight days.

In the case of offence liable to the maximum imprisonment for a term not less than ten years, irrespective of whether it be liable to any rate of fine also, the court shall be permitted to order several successive detentions not exceeding twelve days each, but the total period shall not be in excess of eighty four days.

In respect of paragraph 6, if, upon completion of forty eight days, the public prosecutor or inquirer applies to the court for further detention by reason of necessity, the court may grant the application only when the public prosecutor or inquirer has demonstrated such necessity and sufficiently introduced evidence for its hearing until it is satisfied.

You may want to consult a calendar... Starting with the date the crime happened, then the date they were arrested.

We finally agree on something!! :)

Pardon moi - they have been detained since October 2nd officially - couldn't edit the post for some reason - so they're not over the limit on this extension.

But as country/city/island category its pretty hard and need quite few friends...

Plenty of companies selling reviews, cost $5 a pop from aged and trusted accounts.

Yeah and off course koh tao local goverment has purchaced those.

They are head on their time on social media u say?? Yet dont know how make sewer systems. Makes sence..

You my friend are rocket engineer.

Next can u solve world peace?

Trip Advisor is bigger than all of them... they won't be harassed into anything... trust me. Regarding the water... huge drought concerns hamper all of Thailand, especially an island of 25sqkms with little or no catchment area, and a huge usage. Last year they were charging for showers... which is not unheard of, except that it was sea water they were charging for. LULZ. By the way, it should be obvious to anyone who spends a second to think about it, that the Gulf of Thailand is a fetid septic tank of faeces, carcinogens and corpses... I live 2 meters away from it's serene shore. So once again, I am what's called an expert witness on this subject. I tell my son to make sure he doesn't get it in his mouth... you can smell the soap in the water. Anyway... that's (Thai) life...

Sure I'll hang around, and in my defense I'm not a native english speaker so trivial stuff like month names, date formats and other locale-related features can sometimes elude me - this time it bit my behind crazy.gif.pagespeed.ce.dzDUUqYcHZ.gif

Do not worry. Your comprehension skills and written English are better than those of many, so called, "native English speakers" on TVF.

A precis:

Headthug appears to have postponed his second press conference.

An island poster is still trying to get sympathy but few are biting as most believe that the poster is either a business

owner paying rent to a family or employed by them. Either way all adults on the island are complicit in the corruption that

has gone on there for long enough. It does not matter if there are worse places in Thailand, thats not where the focus is right now, so everything from the diving/motorbike scams to

theft, intimidation and murder has to stop now and the only way to get the attention of the islanders is by hitting their pockets. Something that is obviously happening

but, if there are innocents, then that is a shame but nothing anyone can do.

The B2 are probably going to get bail and I would imagine find a way back home, at least I hope so.

The prosecutor got another 12 days but one wonders how that can possibly improve a complete investigation that has been

complimented and rewarded at the highest level.

The 2 senior policemen who were dismissed last week were given an interview yesterday but, no news of that yet but it cannot be a coincidence, can it?

British diplomat calls on the PM today to discuss various issues. No leaks there methinks!

British cops still quiet but it makes me wonder if the British embassy is sending out signals like todays meeting. How much was KT discussed I wonder?

The spacebook man has been invited to a Beverley Hills bash by the Thai embassy, an invitation that surely had to be sanctioned from higher up?

Threats, bribes or admiration on the table??

The house of cards does indeed seem to be on unstable footing but, can we expect the real culprits to pay for this disgusting crime?

History says unlikely but I am hoping the worm has turned. Younger generation educated Thai people seem to have had enough

of the brain washing and unfair wealth distribution. Good for them

I think The PM may know the truth now and the next 7 days will tell if he takes a stand and makes an announcement admitting that he was wrong.

my predictions:

1 bail set at 1 million each.embassy and concerned groups rally to put up the cash.

2 Armed gaurds are called to escorts the boys to the border ASAP

3. With a kick in the pants out of nearest border crossing boys are told "think youselfs lucky this time,PO and dissapear and never come Thailand again"

4. News leak that boys have skipped bail but yes we have the good information that they are definately the culprit.

5. Bail money shared around amongst bib and everyone happy

I also assumed that if the B2 get bail they will immediately flee the country (cuz I would if I was them and innocent) and the RTP and the truth deniers on this forum will all say that this is obviously indicative of their guilt so case closed.

It's started, the inevitable climb down, no doubt the two Burmese kids will be released.

A new investigation? Maybe, but only a token effort......we all know who the real suspect are, well at least two of them. But we also know, that this is Thailand and they won't be served justice because of there wealth and influence.

The British will start leaking their report investigation, I think the leaks have already begun at diplomatic level.

Will the leaks be enough to make the authorities arrest the real perpetrators?.... Doubtful, but the only hope we all have for real justice.

One thing for certain, the Thai Authorizes are in for one hell of a ride over the coming weeks. I predict some damaging personal revelations to be made.

This place is WAY more f.... up that any sane mind would contemplate to consider....... "disgusting" is a too nice a term to reflect the realities..... "time to draw the conclusions...." !!!!!

Truth deniers?

If you were them, got bail, and were guilty ; you would stay?

BTW the only claims I have seen of knowing who is guilty or innocent comes from your "side"

Like this truth denier right here. We all know that if the B2 flee he will be the one most loudly saying "See, I was right all along, this proves they are guilty and the RTP did conduct a perfect investigation all along".

I have never said it was a perfect investigation.

You didn't answer my question.

I can't picture a man such as he - admit being wrong. It's counter to his image. At most, he might send one or two officials to inactive posts.

What do all these officials that are shunted into inactive posts actually do? Sit in an office and twiddle their thumbs? set up fake facebook accounts and pass the time posting propaganda or what? There's a growing number of them blink.png

Not really.

Just wanted to see how far your hypocrisy would go, claiming to know the "truth"

Obviously it is boundless.

At what point did I claim to know the "truth"?

I simply said that if I was innocent and bailed I would flee the country because I would not expect a fair trial and that people like you would hail this as a victory claiming that it indicated guilt.

forget about the stupid 1 million bail... the Thai will PAY them in not too far a future to"quietly disappear".... these morons have no idea into what kind of corner they pinned themselves into.... their OWN undoing.... this one will NOT go away for a LONG time and not without HUGE pain... mostly suffered by the Thai small business owners though, unfortunately, while the big shot will, without a shadow of a doubt, continue to behave as if nothing has happened.... believe me or not.... it's just building up....

I think the Thai PM is going to have a 'word' with the Thai consulate in Los Angeles for officially inviting the owner of CSI LA to the party thumbsup.gif

Or simply arrest him there.

Yeah sure the US government will bow to the horribly skewed demands of a military junta because he runs a facebook page that is not illegal but merely something the junta doesn't like. Unless you can propose how the Thai authorities are going to swing that line then do give us the gist of what they'd be best to say thumbsup.gif

Oops sorry, thought the event was at the consulate, and thus enjoyed extraterritoriality

So, how would that work? They invite him to the consulate, put a bag on his head and smuggle him out of the country? Hilarious...

"Thai being Thai"... and smart as they are.... they might actually try that..... wink.png

For a corrupt official, being banished to an inactive post is actually a pretty severe punishment. The base salaries of Thai officials are minimal. They need opportunities to supplement their incomes to live in the manner to which they have become accustomed. An inactive post severely curtails those opportunities,
