Pattaya Noi is a PicNik area near to Sirithorn Dam (Spelink). Nice to chill out over the water for a meal/drink. More adventurous go on the Jetski"s or banana boats. Not so good for a dog. post-156212-14168235655991_thumb.jpg

It's not Sirithorn Dam, it's Ubonrat Dam, assuming you're talking about the one in Khon Kaen province.

Early evening seems an odd time to go, it's quite a few km off the main Khon Kaen-Udon Thani road.

Go late morning and have lunch on a raft on the lake. You can walk over the dam itself and there's food and drink

available in the park there. Pattaya Noi is by the lake behind the dam, not near the dam itself.

Ubonrat is a nice place, but evening? I think you are supposed to leave by 6. Dogs on a leash would be fine if controlled. Card in, card out, like Makro.

Thanks all for the replies and yes I am talking about Khon Kaen, I never ended up going in the end but will do this weekend and not go in the evening, the info was appreciated, cheers

The larger restaurant overlooking the dam and lake is closed on Sunday about two months ago. Don't know about other Sundays.

They have a pretty decent 18 hole golf course. If you play golf and your pregnant wife needs some exercise, let her caddy for you.

Just outside from the Golf Course, there's a Thai restaurant, that cooks falang food, you can get a nice Crispy pork dinner with all the trimmings for only 150Baht

went there at Songkran, lot's of water splashing fun, many vendors, nice festival.

Nice beach are on the other side at bottom, with huts on the water, vendors bring and sell food. take the kids there and lay in the shade, drink beer and eat while the kids play in the water,
