Hang Dong - emergency phone numbers

Featured Replies

for Hang Dong District residents, what is phone number for police and emergencies? Is "191" best?

fire emergencies? will Chiang Mai Fire respond to Hang Dong call, or need to call HD Fire Station?

medical emergency (such as heart attack) and need ambulance to Chiang Mai Ram. call hospital?

Thanks.

If you get a copy of City Life Magazine they devote a page to useful numbers, emergencies and Hospital numbers.

The December issue should be available in the next few days.Far too many numbers to list here.

Fire no is 199, RAM emergency 053 224 861,they have 2 "Heart" vans for emergencies.Police 053 814 313-4,Accident 1193 etc etc.

Good luck. It's are for anyone to ever answer "emergency numbers". Get a neighbor, friend or nearby relative to throw you in the back of a pick-up truck and get you to the hospital. Ambulance to your home and then all the way to RAM? LOL. It would take forever for an ambulance to get there in traffic. 1669 is an all volunteer EMS group all over Thailand. They are quite good.

Well reaction time to an emergency call is not restricted to CM happens in every big city throughout the world.RAM did answer an emergency to our village in HD a few weeks ago and were here in

20 -25 minutes, probably drove on the wrong side of the road but they made it. Of course the advantage is they have trained paramedics and medical equipment on board, you get treatment before

you reach the hospital.Faced with that in comparison to bouncing around in a pick up I know what I would choose, if capable of making a decision, but each to his own.

1669 is an excellent alternative but not sure how many units they have in CM

Just a guess but well over 100.

Okay, silly question but.... what do they charge for this sort of emergency?

One of the problems with Ambulances getting through the traffic, seems to be a distinct lack of courtesy from other road users.

Rarely, if ever, unless it is a Ferang Driver, will you see ANYONE move out of the way for an Ambulance to get through under "Light and Siren."

just returned from Chiang Mai Ram Hospital, where I checked out the "heart vans" and Information Desk.

The vans are parked outside the Emergency Room entrance. Numbers shown on the vans are 053-920-300 (Mobile CCU)

and 053-895-001 (Hotline).

At the Information Desk (Counter No. 7), the young lady at the desk did not know the number for emergency (ambulance),

but dialed the operator. According to the operator, 053-895-551.

When the Info Desk clerk was asked to explain the discrepancy, she smiled and replied that I could use either number.

Confused? Me too!

Just call the numbers, have a little chat and find out what the person who answers can do for you.

920 300 is the main Ram number from which you talk to an operator or key in the extension you want. Not what I'd call a hot line, I would look for something more direct to emergency services.

Well all I can confirm is that the main RAM number was rung and answered immediately and one of the 2 vans, with 2 paramedics, was at BWT village in less than 30 minutes.

A "hot line", somewhat a cliche ,is only as good as the service it provides and in this case it worked. The number is stored in my phone and my wifes, along with police, emergency etc numbers

Sounds like it would be wise to enrol yourself and your nearest and dearest in a CPR course.
