Does anyone know where Protec-brand Tropical helmets can be purchased in Chiang mai? Western helmets are too hot.

I don't know this brand of helmet, but for what it's worth, I wear a Shoei "white" helmet, and don't find it hot at all. I never did understand why anyone would buy a black helmet in this climate, but there's no accounting for tastes.

I just took a look at this brand of helmet and noticed that none of them protect the face or chin, and only one or two that protect the back of the head. According to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, 35% of all damage to the head were in the area of the chin, and 12% to the back of the head. Are you looking for a helmet that will just satisfy the police? They seem to be OK with people wearing bicycle helmets, and those are REALLY airy!
