We will be travelling to UK and some Mediterranean Islands in 2015.

What visa's will my girlfriend need?

UK visa she will have already, what visa will she require for Ibiza and Malta?

Travel will be just holiday.

To clarify a shengen visa WILL NOT get you entry into the UK, but you sau you have that visa so no problem, you will need a shengen Visa for Europe (subject to shengen area) and a seperate application and Visa for the UK.

The shengen Visa needs to be obtained from the first point of entry, so if Spain (Ibiza) is the first point of entry into the shengen area, thats the Embassy you need to apply for your Shengen visa.

Sorry but I need to clarify this point.

The Schengen Visa needs to be obtained from the consulate representing the country which is the main destination within the Schengen Area, ie where you are spending more time. If there is no main destination, because you are spending an equal time in more than one State, then you should apply at the Consulate representing the State where you enter the Schengen Area.

I know from personal experience that some countries are quite touchy on this issue, my partner got refused a visa recently because she was touring and spending an almost equal time in two member states, so she applied at the country where she was entering the area, they refused to issue the visa because we were spending a couple of hours longer in another country.

You're too honest, oldgit.

Not honest, they must have trawled through all the supporting evidence to reach that conclusion.

We actually thought they were wrong in reaching that conclusion and lodged a complaint, which they ignored.

We took it to the EU Commissioners who upheld our complaint and the first consulate had to return the fee and all the documentation, but that took time, and meanwhile the other country issued the visa.
