just looking for a apparetment quite cheap i know theres gotta be posts on this my laptops on deathrow so struggling to search very well, iv looked on the thaivisa property page and theres not a lot there just looking for somewhere closeby to the city as i dont drive ? any help would be appreciated please dont crucify me for posting something thats gotta have been posted before :)

Do you have transport.. Whats your budget and needs ?? Do you have a location you want to be around.

Theres some really OK studios and one beds. from 6 - 9k a month with internet and cable Tv, out near CMU.. Further up the scale are really swank 1 beds with nice furnishings, big flat screen TVs and jacussi baths, maid service and linens for 20 - 30k..

The CM digital nomads facebook group was a good place to ask for short stay apartments with good internet.. Saw many mentioned on there I wasnt aware of.

My experience here is that a computer is not much use in finding lodging. Identify where roughly you want to live. Walk the streets there looking for apartments. Inquire at bars and cafes. Sometimes there is a bulletin board at these places (Rimping @ Iron Bridge has a good one) where places are posted.

who can I pay to find me a suitable place? I have spent days looking online and in person with nothing reasonable to be had. Just want a 1 br in reasonable location <15k

Again define reasonable location.. 15k should get you something nice.. I think A place I stayed in for a month out towards 700 year stadium was 17k a month and really nice furnishings, decor, etc..

Then again I would never be without transport and dont mind being in the quiet external bits of the city.

I stayed at The Bliss and paid 12K/month for a studio with a great mountain view and five minutes from Maya shopping mall: http://www.theblisschiangmai.com/

Though I found the staff a little cheap, for example I had to buy my own extension cord for the microwave, the stove only came with a pot for boiling water (no frying pan or wok, though they gave me one after a bit of complaining), and forget about plates, knifes, chopping board, etc., but I guess you get what you pay for, so now I pay twice as much for a slightly larger unit at The Shine, but the condo here has everything. Was initially without a microwave, I mentioned it, and the day after a deluxe (newly bought) microwave arrived.

You need to be searching Thai publications and websites - not English. If you can't figure it out by yourself, get a Thai friend to help.

agree with Seligne 2. Check the areas out where you want to stay and they make enquires. Rent for simple furnished rooms with bath start at 3000 baht per month. If you want something wtih more amenities , expect to pay around 5500-6000 baht for a room.

If you are interested in that, just go ask at those apartment buildings if they have rooms for rent, look at them and then decide.
