The mackems are off and racing - played 2 lost 2.

Must be depressing times for them - no manager, no talented players, no money and gates down to 20 odd-thousand which will obviously get lower if they continue this rich vein of form.

The Stadium of Light seems to be fading fast.

Shame to see such a great club crumbling before our eyes.

Niall Quinn is Sunderlands Chairman and Manager.

As for it being a shame to see the club crumbling, well i think its great. Im from Newcastle and could not think of a team i would prefer seased to exsist.

Good luck to Plymouth Argyle today. :o

Tad harsh that Lacoste.

Even when Man City went down.................and down again :o:D many United fans still wanted us to come back. Just so that they could get their 6 points every season :D Fortunately they haven't done and since we came back up we have taken more point off them :D

A message from a retarded skunk who can't spell or punctuate his message.

Gan back to school kidda!

Sunderland have equalised. :D

But, oh no! Another defensive cock up and it's 3-2 to Plymouth. :o I'm sure that Steve Caldwell was involved in it somewhere. :D

Wishful thinking. He wasn't even on the bench. His love child, Danny Collins, was the responsible party today for two blunders that led to goals.

I'm going to change my name to Blunderland.

Ahem! It's now, played 3 and lost 3. Sorry Sunderland! :D

:D No need for anyone to panic ... the parachute hasn't opened yet. :o

Just saw the score - what a truly horrible nightmare for the black cats.

How many lives will the mighty Quinn have before he's throws himself out with the kitty litter? They'll have to act fast if they want to ensure a trip to the old 3rd division is avoided.

Does sunderland have any attractive girls to attract Sven?

Southend 3 Sunderland 1 :D

:o Bottom of the league ... no bloody points ... :D

Every player ... bloody useless the lot of them ... sack them and burn them at the stake! :D

You must be gutted...I saw the highlights, but I also saw the reaction of the Sunderland fans when they scored near the end..they were still celebrating their goal.

Sunderland supporters are a die hard bunch.

I recall about 8 years ago Reading were beating them 4-0 at Elm Park and they must have had 5,000 fans there. Sunderland took a shot which went into the Sundrland fans end, one supporter grabbed the ball and jumped over the barrier and placed it on the six yard line and whacked it in the empty net before jumping back int the crowd before the stewards could catch him ,it brought the biggest cheer of the day..even the Reading fans started chanting 4-1 instead of 4-0...shows that even when the Mackems are down they retain their sense of humour...you will get through this..it was only 15-16 months you were on cloud nine...you will have your time again

Every CAT has its day

At least if you can count on nothing else..the playerscan count on the loyalty of their supporters

Well, it just goes from bad to worse. Don't know how long their loyal supporters will remain loyal. They are pathetic, ....and the team isn't much better..boom boom..just kidding. Another humilitating loss, this time to lowly Bury(apologies to any Bury fans) from the old 4th division in the Carling Cup.

It makes my heart bleed: the embarrassment and humiliation must have them all crying in their pints of Vaux.

mendicus makemus nothus - as the the Romans used to say when they were doing a bit of building up north.

I think we would rather go and watch 11 Sunderland shirts drying in the sun (obviously not in Sunderland!) than the shower of <deleted> that call themselves 'players' at the moment.

You have to wonder how many teams with Sunderland's recent past would take 1,300 fans to Bury on a Tuesday night for a mickey mouse game.

Yes, the team is complete and utter pants. Has been most of my life, but when we chant 'Sunderland 'til I die' we are chanting for all the good people who follow the club through thick, but mostly thin times.

Sunderland's metropolitan area covers a population of just 300,000 people. Why around 10% of the population of the city would still choose to go and pay for such shockingly poor entertainment on a regular basis is a hard concept to grasp for anyone who doesn't know about the culture of English football.

Mad bastards ... :D
