King’s improved condition is best and happiest news for 2014

BANGKOK: -- News of His Majesty the King's improved condition, stronger health, and his birthday anniversary celebration is the top and happiest news for 2014 of the Thai people, a poll by Bangkok University revealed today.

The poll, or which is well known as Bangkok Poll, was conducted between Dec 12-15 on 1,175 people in Greater Bangkok Metropolitan which comprises adjacent provinces.

News of His Majesty’s improved condition came top with 70% votes, followed by 8% for news of the power seizure by the National Council for Peace and Order and having Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha as prime minister.

Coming behind with 6.4% votes is news of the ending of the protests by both sides of polarised politics.

The poll also said the worst news for 2014 is the rape and murder on train with Bangkok people voting 31.9% for it.

Second worst news is the clashes between the anti-government People’s Democratic Reform Committee and the red shirts (18.6%).

For most favourite actors and singers, they voted for “Um” or Patcharapha Chaichua (19.6%), Thongchai McIntyre or “Bird” (12.6%) and Nadej Kukimiya (10.8%).

News of the arrests of the Central Investigation Bureau chief and his network on lese majeste charges was most followed by the respondents (53.1%), trailing behind by the rape of a girl on a train (51.7%) and the Koh Tao

Bangkok people also voted for the national women’s volley ball team as the the most outstanding sport teams (39.7%), followed by the men’s football team (38.6%) and Thai-styled boxers (4.5%)

The missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 was voted the most followed foreign ews (42.2%).

Thais certainly love their King

This is fantastic christmas news for the thai people, they have a truly great king and it is important for the country as a whole for him to remain in good health for years to come, he is the one that holds everything together here, long live the king.

He is really the glue holding this country together.

What is the happiest news?

1. News of His Majesty’s improved condition

2. Power seizure by the National Council for Peace and Order

3. Having Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha as prime minister.

4. Ending of the protests by both sides of polarized politics.

I would also choose for the first option.

The other 3 points don't sound happy to me, they are either unhappy (2 and 3) or more like a relief (4).

This is the best news we have had all year, what more do we want for xmas than that encouraging news.

Hoping for only good things to come this countries way in 2015, whatever side of the divide anyone might be on. Good story because there has not been a whole lot of them in Thailand in 2014.

the Siriraj Hospital "I want the public to understand that His Majesty is not sick and does not have

anything serious"--- Quote on Dec 6, 2014.

I am delighted that His Majesty is feeling better. I am very pleased that The Thai People are happy at this. It is good news and God, and Buddha, both know they need something to cheer them up. Good Oh ! I really mean that.

Please don't try to link it to the current political situation.

The King of Thailand, His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, carried his people into the 20th century with his bare hands. This is great news to all the Thais I know. No exceptions.
