where to buy a regular Hollow Core Door?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where to buy a flat HOLLOW CORE DOOR, in Chiang Mai?

I need one to make a desk top.

I checked at Global House but they don't have it.

Thank you.

Are you absolutely sure Global doesnt have them; a ply faced door. Go check again; you will find, they will be circa 750bt. Unless you went prior to restocking I would be very surprised.

You can also get them at Thai Watsadu just past Don Chan.

You can also get them at Suksawad timber on the opposite road to the new central.(coming back towards Chang Puak)

Also Home Mart again on the road between Chang Puak intersection and Central.

then there are 2 or 3 door shops on the Hang dong road between Robinsons and Makro; both sides of the road.

As an alternative you could buy a sheet of blockboard or 20mm ply, cut it in half and double it up, glued together. it would be thicker and stronger than the door.....or you could by a cheap cheap 6 panel pressed mdf internal door for 580bt and then pin a sheet of 5mm ply for 280bt over it to give it a smooth finish.

Many options really.

Correct, look again at Global, unless something big has changed they have them. Suksawad will have them for sure.

Or are you looking for some particular size and/or wood type which you failed to mention?

Sometimes the doors with tempered masonite finish are smoother and better than plywood for a desk top. Not sure if they exist here............?

I will check Global House again... maybe they were out of stock when I went there about a year ago.

thanks for the replys
