Kiwi Brand Knives in Phuket

I need a few cooking knives for work. Kiwi brand are several times the price in Australia, and I dont want to import them because the Thai customs will charge an absolute fortune for them.

I hear they sell for around 60-90 baht each in Thailand. I bought some in Pattaya sometime back but the shop is no longer there. I was hoping someone had seen them in Phuket

Just got a fantastic knife through Villa Mart.

15 stamps + 200 Bt got me an Italian Legnoart 8" Chef's knife worth 935 Bt.

Very pleased.

Saw that deal this morning.

I especially enjoyed reading the box on the block that's in Chinese.

Nothing Italian about the set, except for the name.

Not bad but you can buy it for 600 baht at index.

The knives are Italian and really look the business, though, they are made in China (what isn't nowadays).

Still.......only 200 Bt. The stuff I bought to get the stamps, I would have bought anyway.

You guys are essentially on the same page but I still find it hilarious to refer to a a product by it's licensing agent's country of origin.

So is a microwave with a French name really French if it's made in china. e.g. a food processor with the brand name cuisinart from France made in China. Is it French or Chinese?

Yes. If it was designed in that particular country and comes up to standard. Where it's manufactured is less important than design and quality standard.

You think Mercedes cars are all built in Germany? They aren't, yet, it's still considered a German car.

Same goes for sports equipment, computers and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Ikea flat-pack furniture is considered Swedish no matter what country it is assembled in.

Italian/Chinese knives?

Now if you were talking German or Japanese made then you are talking quality

For a cheap give-a-way (200 Bt) at Villa, I'm very, very pleased with them. Saved 700 Bt.

The OP asks about a particular brand of knives. He gets 1 partial reply and 8 irrelevent replies before he gets a real answer.

Is ADD a thing on TV?

Make that 9, no, 10 irrelevant replies....
