have to agree with this, my wife has a 40 something friend in Bangkok that is single and refuses to have anything to do with thai men, she continually is asking us to set her up with a farang. She is self established, great condo, own business and well to do plus down to earth, we meet up with here every year at the uni anniversary get together plus my wife stays with her when she has to go to Bangkok overnight for the company board meetings. AOA, we can't possibly know what the OP's wife has to endure in return for her allowance.

Allow me:yes among thais from small village s I have heard that mentioned. ..proper older women dont WANT sex.....that is for young people and 40 is not seen as young...although times are achanging....anf ive met several farang women who have mentioned that their thai husbands seem to lose interest at around 40as well ( in sex.not affection) the equipment stops working as well. ..but it seems cultural. ..good girl vs bad girl style. ..as in many culture s ...menopause and tiredness work hoyse kids etc take their toll...many women don't really all out enjoy sex as much as men do regardless of popular (male) notions...and for women the cuddling and hugging is the important thing. ..possibly among more sophisticated people -women -with less cultural hangups 40 might still be considered young. As far as my husband and friends are concerned 40 is old...I should be working less and enjoying grandkids and not hiking around etc....

If they do all that exercise and never arrive a the summit, I can understand why they don't want to hike any more. However If they have a partner skilled in navigation it is unlikely they would give up so early with all those mountains left to climb. Perhaps the purchase of some hiking aids would make the journey more successful.
