I have ordered a set top box from Lazada including a digital antenna, totaling about 1350 baht to paid C.O.D. I received through the post (probably because I ordered the box) a voucher for 690 baht.

Can someone please tell me if the voucher will be acceptable as part payment for the box when it arrives. Thanks in advance.

I sincerely doubt it that you can use that voucher to pay for goods and I also don't think that you got the Voucher because you ordered the Box.

The Voucher comes from the The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and has nothing to do with Lazada

Wrong way round. The coupon is automatically sent to the households in the DVB-T areas via post (one per household/blue book).

It can then be credited to pay for a digital TV set top box (DVB-T2).

Assuming:

I am afraid you will have problems to validate the coupon after completion of the order.

No idea whether and how internet shops handle the coupon.

It might be enough to specify the unique (serial) no. of the coupon?

But really: assuming only.

Try to contact them by email.

Very unlikely that you can handle that when paying C.O.D.

From a German magazine.

Shops that accept the coupons: 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Tesco Lotus, The Mall Group, Power Buy, Amorn Electronics, Siam Macro, Big C Supercenter, Home Pro and IT City.

(no warranty for completeness)

Lazada has a pretty good 15 day return policy. First of all, see if you can cancel the deal before delivery. If not, then just don't even open the package and return it for a refund then use your coupon at a local retailer. Lots of selections at Tesco, Big-C, Power Buy, ect.

C.O.D.= Cash On Delivery. Credit cards, coupons, etc., don't hack it for C.O.D. Plus, with the coupons a person is suppose to provide a copy of their blue book and passport/ID to redeem them....way too much paperwork for a delivery man to be involved with. As mentioned, plenty of settop boxes sold by numerous stores. Heck, I still have my coupon and even have my mother-in-laws coupon....neither of us need them since we have satellite TV. Plan to give the coupons to some relatives if we can find anyone who really wants/needs them....most of my relatives have satellite TV already and I don't think they are in the market at this point in time for a new TV with DVB-T2 built-in since the coupons can only be used for DVD-T2 settop boxes or a new TV with DVD-T2 built-in.
