Have to go Bangkok

Featured Replies

Leave you car at home or drive it to where the Pattaya-to-Airport bus leaves from Pratumnak. Take the bus to airport. Take SRT to Makkasan. Swap stations and take BTS to your desired stops. When finished, reverse procedure (or use the +200 baht saved and get a taxi back to airport) and bus back to Pattaya.

How about parking at Tesco Lotus at On Nut, which is right by the BTS? Not sure what they charge for 'long term' parking, but I doubt it's excessive.

  • Park up at Central Bang Na, then nip up to Udomsuk BTS on one of the shuttle buses or in a cab.

That doesn't seem a bad idea at all. Do you have a departing time schedule for the airport bus to and from airport?

TESCO ON NUT is for sure the best option and right next to the BTS. Three hours are free, and if they charge 50 Baht for subsequent hours, it is still affordable me thinks. not sure how many hours you will have to spend in BKK, but the other options (like Central Bangna) are rather a hassle / nuisance.

You may be right, because if the parking at airport is 250 Baht, that mean I can park 8 hours at Tesco, which I will never need.

I'm also considering now to park at Siam Paragon as that is quite easily reachable coming from the highway............... if the situation hasn't changed since I was there last time more than a year ago.

but to get to PARAGON and particularly to GET OUT and back to the Tollway/Highway in late afternoon or so will consume a lot of time. the traffic around Paragon comes to a standstill late afternoon usually.

You'd be crazy to drive in as far as Paragon! I wouldn't drive in any further than On Nut, or take the airport option.

You might as well skip the airport bus, save time and money, take the bus from Pattaya nua to ekamai and jump on the bts in front of the bus station.Quick, cheap and just what you need.

I've looked into the bus option, and however it is viable, the last return bus leaves at 6pm which means i should be finished at 5pm.

This is too early for me, so I will have to consider going by car either to On Nut or the airport.

Further suggestions are still welcome.

I had assumed that the OP wanted to drive. If not, taking the bus and then the BTS makes absolute sense!

Bearing has a parking area within a minutes walk of the BTS. Sukhumvit 105 parking is on the RHS.

I'm pretty sure its free also.

Honestly guys, I hadn't taken the Pattaya - Ekamai bus into account, since the last time I used that service must haven been about 15 years ago. And I can tell you, at that time it wasn't a luxury to travel on that bus.

On closer look, things may have improved, and I think they now take highway all the way from Pattaya to Bangkok.

Of course for 124 Baht I can't even get to Sriracha with my own car, and given that the bus station is right at the entrance of the BTS and that the last bus is 11pm, it may be the best solution
