Thailand to hold international pigeon racing

BANGKOK, 13 January 2015 (NNT) – The Racing Pigeon International Association (RPIA) is gearing up for Pigeon Racing this May, utilizing the route through the regions of Thailand, while planning to hold an international pigeon racing contest next year.

The RPIA President Sunthorn Jarumol yesterday held the press conference on the association’s pigeon racing contests in the regional level of Thailand.

The regional program includes the pigeon racing at the northern, northeastern, and southern region of Thailand. The competition is scheduled to commence in May 2015. Winner will receive the Royal Trophy from His Majesty the King.

The RPIA is also planning to hold an international pigeon racing contest in 2016. Participants from 30 countries have already confirmed attendance in the contest with about 20 thousand pigeons participating, of which some are worth up to 13 million baht.

One famous competitor, Mike Tyson, the American boxer, has already confirmed to participate in the pigeon race in Thailand.

I don't know prices for race pigeons, but fancy pigeons that only have to look good fetch steep prices. A Chinese magnate paid $328,000 for one of those birds.

they are flying rats full of disease - 'bird' is not a correct description and the only good pigeon is a dead one

good to see he is champion something the poms cannot make he has had a hard life, got done for rape, what some bitch going back to your hotel early hours of morning , didnt want what she got, maybe she was part Thai greedy _unt anybody has $ people try to rape you of it,I wish him well

Saw a documentary a while back on Iron Mike and his love of pigeon racing

He takes it very seriously and has entered his birds in many races and competitions

You can laugh at his past antics all you want ... but would you laugh in his face?

Easy to take a shot in an anonymous forum .... you are all chickens when compared too his pigeons

He is also a convicted criminal who has done hard prison time. Don't be surprised if the red carpet is rolled out at swampy and an honor guard is waiting with a limo and police escort.
