Free Windows 7 support ended on Tuesday

702x336xMicrosoft-Windows-7-702x336.jpg.

Are you still running the long in the tooth Windows 7? Or worse still, Windows XP? If you’re on Windows 7, that means the end of free support on Tuesday, January 13th 2015.
There are still many people who refuse to upgrade to the Microsoft’s latest operating system. In fact, millions of people around the world are using an even older version of Windows – XP.
While that is fine in terms of usability and stability, it doesn’t pay in the long run to stick with very old versions of Windows because you won’t receive the latest security updates, and of course the latest features.

That's a little misleading I think. Yes, there won't be any new service packs for Windows7, but MS will still be providing free Windows updates for another 5 years.

Not even MS can abandon the most used OS of all.

Just making headlines to unsettle users and make them invest in new hardware and software.

If you have a well running W7 computer: next topic please.

Just a misleading headline to grab person's attention to where they will read the article and rack-up on more article view on the counter. Headlines/titles are becoming more and more misleading just to grab your attention.

So ? I just re-installed win XP sp2 on a new 1 TB hard drive..+only some trusted and needed update/hotfixes from before 2009 .

Ready for another couple of years. I'm gladly skipping win vista, win7 , win8 , win8.1 and win 10.

Updates & support are overrated . Just have enough protection/security.

Tried FF 28 , no good , then FF22 , still no good, now back to the last good one FF 19.0.2.

Tried a lot of other program updates , most not good , installed the old ones back.

The world did not end in april 2013 , it won't end for win 7 users.
