Hello,

Could you please clarify the following doubts?

If a company wind up their operation in thailand, what will happen to the expats with work permit working in that company?

Can they legally work in any other company here with the work permit of the old company?

Regards

No. Work permits are company/job/location specific. The work permit must be canceled (believe in one week) and if on an extension of stay (you don't make border runs) you must report to immigration to cancel your extension of stay and leave the county within about a week from then.

Agreed. Additionaly, it does (usually) significantly help for the employee to already have had one, if he goes for a new one, or relocates to a company that will help him to get a new, relevant work permit.
