This is just a way to gather ammunition, like leverage, for future talks with Taksin and PT.

A huge 'deal' is about to be made soon, I believe, and a civilian will step up to be PM as big foreign investors stay away from Thailand and Thai corporations have warned the Junta that this government is a disaster for the economy.

We will see a lot of change over the next few months, just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride!

What's the 'huge deal'?

Is this just about the economy? Sure a strong economy with stable employment is highly desirable in any country.

But should sorely needed reforms to stop dictatorships just go totally to the back burner?

They dare not have an election as she would win again... and again... and again... this is the only way for the ammart to retain power and control over the people and she, has the opportunity, come out of this as a 'heroine' who stood up to the BULLIES (i hope so but it's not clear yet whether she will stay and fight or flee). I think she has remarkable composure and I know many Thais love her and her resilience against the elite unelected bully boys.

About time you emerged from your dream.

And now democracy is dead in Thailand.

She was legally elected by a majority of the people and how many of those elected the present regime?

PTP didn't get the majority of voters. In the general election of 2011 the percentage of voters who didn't vote for any Thaksin related parties was 51%. So please when you start talking about"the majority of Thai people" actually get your facts straight. The topic here is Yingluck's mismanagement of a subsidy scheme that failed spectacularly in all aspects and continues to cost the Thai taxpayer vast sums of money that could be better invested somewhere else.

She is in the frame for impeachment for dereliction of duty, and her not turning up to meetings to explain what she knows about a scheme she was head of either shows cowardice or not actually having an idea of what was going on, pretty much proving the dereliction of duty charge right there.

Being elected doesn't make a leader immune from having to govern in an honest, transparent and thoroughly professional manner. On almost every count of what Yingluck didn't do or did to a shoddy standard her lack of explanation simply compounds the notion that she was unable, incapable or simply not interested in doing to an acceptable standard.

See the nation is really showing it's allegiance to the yellow dem junta coalition .

No need for attitude adjustment with them it's always been there and they just keep churning out bias articles which sends the yellow dems into a zombie like feeding frenzy.

Won't help at election time though!

What Election???? LOL cheesy.gif

These Junta clowns are repeating their 2006 failure. They have silenced all opposition voices with their guns and oppression and now idiotically believe that the dearth of criticism of their ridiculously biased actions is proof of their correctness and vast public support - idiots one and all. This right wing extremist joke is hurtling inevitably towards its deserved demise

"Examples need to be set that those who commit wrong will be punished, so no future leaders dare repeat these actions. This will create sustainable reconciliation," the NACC member said.

- Does this line of thinking apply to the Army leaders and the coups they continually inflict upon the nation? Selective justice is no justice at all!

Reconciliation cannot be forced by one side onto the other at the barrel of a gun.

Your post seems to be in contradiction with your name! Except for the last line which is very true, it also includes intimidation and burning down buildings of those opposed to your ideology.

Yeah, Dellboy218, Periscope Up!!

These Thai's think they own the place...wai2.gif

In related news, water is wet.

But who is Wicha Mahakhun?? a judge does not take position when judging ... however,

Wicha Mahakhun, a former Thai judge and (military coup sponsored) constitution drafter, stated: "People, especially academics who want to see the constitution lead to genuine democracy, are naïve. We all know elections are evil.

Hmmmmm....Just a thought......but did she do any worse than any and or all the other former Prime Ministers and or various politicians that could easily be brought up on any number of similar corruption charges and or malfeasance.

Other than political vendettas perpetrated by the opposition and the current military leaders why should she be singled out and prosecuted and held responsible more so than any of the other crooks and political low lifes that continually profit from their exalted political positions.

As if holding her responsible will make the others change for the better and make them publically accountable or responsible for their crimes.

Not a chance, rather it will simply encourage the opposition to manipulate the system in their favor all the more and corrupt the system to their advantage all the more....Because....they can!

Hey parrot, a bit like the extremely biased rubbish and lies fed to the masses at the red democracy schools and for hours every day on the village loud speakers.

Has he gone leave? Haven't seen a response yet but then he would find it hard to deny what is factual. But wait, it's the parrot so he will come up with something. Can't wait.

What nonsense! Where have guns been used to silence people? Where is the Army on the streets? Barricades? Armed vehicles?

It was Prayut who commenced paying the rice farmers within 3 days of taking over; not the Yingluck Gov't...they allowed graft & corruption to occur to the tune of Billions of baht.

Wicha's comment that you quoted is correct;Thai people are entitled to have those who have wronged them, to be punished....that's natural justice!!

Agree: your only correct statement is in the last line...."Reconciliation cannot be forced by one side onto the other at the barrel of a gun."

Rubbish,Prayuth never paid anything the bank bailed them out under Prayuths orders. Yingluck tried to get help from the bank as well but the bank which is owned and controlled by the elites refused to help until a time when it could be done in a way that benefitted the elites. It matters not that Thaksin was corrupt because all politicians in Thailand are corrupt and matters not that Yingluck made mistakes even though her heart was in the right place the bottom line is that they are fighting a 1000 year old dictatorship and trying to bring Thailand into the modern age. Prayuth is dragging everything backwards.. The coup was brought about after a long conspiracy between Suthep annd Prayuth. The protest were created in order make an atmosphere of violence which would give the army ann excuse to take over. This is admitted by Suthep. I guess allot of farangs don't like the idea of Thailand coming into the modern age because then girls will be able to get good paying jobs and won't have to sell their bodies and work as slaves To yellow shirt brothel owners anymore.

Your right...except about the last part.

Does not matter if the economy is in the dumps and struggling like hell to survive......or if the economy is booming...big time ....and or an existing functional democracy or not, there will always be prostitution because....... it makes money.

This is not a Yingluck/Shinawatra problem. The problem of corruption has been around for a long time in Thailand and its roots are

deep in the culture. Just about any Thai in her position would have done the same thing.

So you think that it is justified?

Corruption runs in the Shinawatra veins - they just can't help themselves when they see an opportunity to steal from the people.

Shame on them, they are a disgrace to the country and I hope that she does a runner (she surely will) like her cowardly brother and we never see the likes of them again!! Remove this stain and most of Thailand's problems will vanish over night. Now wouldn't that be refreshing!

If nothing else Yingluck embodies all that is wrong with Thailand and represents corruption, malfeasance and ineptitude in all aspects.

Well you are 50% right now pick another military of yellow figure, say the same and we are 100% right.

This is really very simple.

her wealth and assets alegedly tripled, during her time in government, involving BILLION'S of baht.

Ask her where this new found wealth came from and let her proove it.

This simply isn't true. Please provide some data if you have it to back up your claim. Her personal wealth, which was modest, increased modestly during her time in office and was due to legitimate growth in investments. Her worth is nowhere near billions. I really am tired of this mindless banal nonsense coming from hatemongers.

You tell the OP to produce data re big gain in wealth.

You made a statement "... increased modestly during her time in office and was due to legitimate growth in investments...." so practice what you preach, provide data to prove your statement.

So what happened to make them all of a sudden chase a legal case too?

This will turn into one very long running farce. If they haven't got hard proof that she personally profited from the system they are going to look like fool and will have created a martyr for their own downfall.

Who reckons that she personally profited? I don't.

I cannot agree that the 'junta' has 'silenced all apposition with their guns and oppression'. There is no evidence of 'oppression' and that in fact the military have been rather 'lenient' with people who called themselves 'democrats' without understanding the meaning of the word and who were probably much closer to the kind of dictatorship that Thaksin was trying to impose than any democratic ideal. I haven't seen guns out on the street. What I have seen and experienced is a massive sigh of relief amongst good Thai people that Thaksin's clowns have had to back pedal. When I read Amnesty's report of torture and so on, there is no evidence of this. Talk about oppression - then talk about the vile regimes in places such as North Korea, some middle east countries and so on. When people post such blanket condemnation without recourse to the facts, I sense that ideology - rather than pure factual expression - is at the root of the post.

Everybody in government was involved in corruption because everybody in government was either lining his pockets or knew it was going on and did nothing about it, which makes him an accessory.

If the junta is really serious about reform, they should start with the NACC whose bias is so great that no reasonable person could ever take this kangaroo court seriously. Start with Khun Wicha, former judge and a man who openly declared he don't like election. Even during the PDRC protest period, he has declared openly his mission to eradicate Yingluck. With this kind of mindset, you think he will be fair with the investigation? I hope the NLA is wise enough to see through this bias political agenda and vote against the charges.
