Beerlao In Samui And Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi Beerlao Lovers,

I involve in importing Beerlao to Thailand. I’ve been investigating forums relating to eat and drink in Thailand for a while. Whether Beerlao will be available in Phuket is one of the hot topics. I am here to deliver a message from the importer to Beerlao lover in Thailand.

We start import Beerlao to Bangkok around April 2006. We shipped Beerlao to Soi Nana and Khaosan Road as they are the most famous tourist places in Bangkok and the feedback has been very good.

As you already know, importing and distributing Beerlao in Thailand is really really hard. This is due to unbelievable tax rate and some regulations. You wouldn’t want to imagine how much the tax is. Also the importer is facing some kind of marketing barriers posed by major Thai beer makers.

We plan to distribute Beerlao to most of Thailand's tourist destinations. Now we are working on distribution plan and doing a research for that. Our market targets are tourist only. We will distribute Beerlao to bars, night clubs, and some restaurants. So in next few years Beerlao won’t be available in supermarket, convenient stores or any outlets other than nightclubs and the like unless the investment looks promising. We do this to avoid troubles with major Thai beers. Also the cost of distributing Beerlao to those stores is very high. You have to be a big player to do that.

Good news for Beerlao lover in Samui. Beerlao has reached Samui last week, which is 12 August 2006. We did an open night in Green Mango club and the feedback was not bad. Now you can find Beerlao in Green Mango and Solo Club. It should be available only in Chaweng Beach for a while. Then it should be wide spread in Samui.

In Phuket, if you love Beerlao, please wait a little bit. Beerlao will be available in Phuket real soon. If everything goes as plan you will find Beerlao in some bars in Phuket in less than 2 months but it should be available in limited area only. I will keep you update about that.

If you have any comment, suggestion on sales and distribution or questions you can email us at laobeer(at)gmail.com. Through this email you can reach dealer of Beerlao in Thailand.

Have a nice day.

May I ask you a Question?

What's about Beer Lao in Pattaya? I know there are not many Tourists in Pattaya, and most don't drink Beer, because there are no Beer Bars or Go go's anyway :o but I know some people (including me) who would like to drink a good Beer from time to time.

Should we better move to Bangkok/Samui/Puket ore is there any hope?

Great job, Bad, I'm in BKK and I drink Beer Lao exclusively. If the place I'm in doesn't carry Beer Lao, I don't drink beer. Keep up the solid work and get the stuff to Pattaya, will ya?

I love Beerlao, and have been telling all my friends about it, but only heard rumors of it being available in Bangkok. I don't go to Soi Nana. Where on Khao San or anywhere else in Bangkok can I find Beerlao?

This is an urgent question, because I'm leaving Thailand soon and would love to drink plenty of Beerlao with my friends before I leave.

I know that Gulliver's Sukhumvit has it so I'd imagine that Gulliver Khao San Rd would as well. Also, the main guy who distributes the product is near Khao San so I'd imagine it would be all over that area

Glad it is becoming readily available. I prefer it over the local beers like Singha, Chang and Leo. :o

  • 3 months later...

Just in case anyone is interested, I sell Beer Lao at my hotel bar near Phuket Airport.

I bought 5 cases a few days ago from the company agent, and I've only got 2 cases left! It seems very popular and I sell it at 70 baht a bottle.

The Beer Lao rep comes down from BKK with supplies for some Patong bars, so we get our supplies when he has finished his deliveries and is driving back to BKK - he drives quite near to our hotel.

The hotel bar is open for non-residents, plus we have 'morlam' (Issan karaokee).

(How's that for a plug without mentioning the hotel name? :o

Simon
