Can we get our daughter a Thai passport in Southern Thailand?

Hi,

Does any know if Thai passports can be issued anywhere in Southern Thailand? We live in Koh Phangan, Surat Thani. I've heard there is a consulate in Surat and one in Had Yai?

Would rather not go all the way to Bangkok if it's not necessary...

There's one in Surat town and also in Songkhla town.

My then GF, now wife, got her Thai passport without leaving Hatyai about 3 years ago...let me know if you want the details and I'll ask her. From memory, it was all done by post.

The OP is asking about obtaining a Thai passport. Where does the US come into this ?

I don't know about Surat, but I know it can be done in Songkhla. Both my step-kids and wife get their passports there.
